It all begins with an idea.

After working together at a local cafe Chris and I tossed around the idea of opening Hobart’s first food truck. After floating the idea to my Dad, Eddie, I soon learned that Eddie had an old unused truck kicking around, the dream suddenly turned into reality. Upon launching onto the streets in early 2013 we soon learned this was a viable business idea and were able to give up our day jobs. Opening night was a sell out and the evenings of popping up in local business car parks earned us a cult following. We would announce their locations on social media and turn up to a line around the block waiting for us, and promptly sell out night after night. It was a wild ride with radio, magazine, and TV interviews including local, national and even international!

The ethos was simple food, packed with flavour, making everything from scratch and using as much locally sourced produce as available, rare breed pork and goat meat from Bruny Island was a highlight. Working with and getting to know local farmers was a great experience and helped to form long lasting relationships.

Since then our company has evolved to include 2 trucks, Belles Burgers in Bellerive and Lazenbys Cafe at UTAS where you can find items from the belles and Taco Taco brands.

We have been privileged to be a part of all of Hobart’s premier food and music events. From Falls Festival (RIP) , Dark Mofo, Taste and many many more.

The biggest privilage is to be able to cater for clients special days, we are so lucky to be able to be a part of people weddings, birthdays, engagements and everything in between and create happiness and memories for years to come.

Owning and operating a food truck certainly comes with its challenges, I could write a book on all the stories of breakdowns, and other funny incidents but we have never failed to deliver a job.

Taco Taco is and always will be our baby and we look forward to many more years of delivering our services to Hobart and beyond!

Taco Taco por vida!!!

Thanks for your support
